I just saw this on the news. A Four Lane Bridge in Minneapolis collapsed into the mississippi river during bumber-to-bumper traffic. So far there has only been one possible casualty, but most of the bridge they say is under the water.

Actually, they just updated it... 30 presumed dead and/or missing...
Which brings up the question... How bridges are safe to travel on anymore? O.o

It's unfortunate how valid that question really is. Rumor has it that the government is taking funding from things like bridge repair and such in order to futher fund the so called "war" in Iraq. Erin, Beth and I already know of this bridge since we live in/close to Greenfield, but do you remember the bridge that goes over the dams into Turners Falls? That's in serious need of repair but they can't do anything because it would severely afect commuter and comercial traffic, and because the state can't afford it. That's probably what happened with this bridge. It's too early to be pointing fingers, of course, but I still think this will probably turn out to be a case of the Government not doing enough. I hope the missing are found okay...
